ADVENT 2024: DAY 24

GLORIOUS WONDER

“’Look among the nations! See! Be astonished! Wonder! For I am doing something in your days— You would not believe it if you were told’”. Habakkuk 1:5 AMP

Having Him bound warmly, in swaddling cloths, they were settling in together.

Mary fixed her gaze.

What did she see there, looking into His eyes?

Did she behold the compassion, the mercy, the love?

Did she feel the peace that only His glorious Presence could deliver?

Could she suddenly understand the passionate wonder?

Was she beholding the heart of His Father!?

“’The Lord your God is in your midst, A Warrior who saves. He will rejoice over you with joy; He will be quiet in His love [making no mention of your past sins], He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.’” Zephaniah 3:17 AMP

Out of the Radiance and Glory of our Creator came His Voice in the night sky.

He drew near, in our midst; overcame the darkness, and our weakness.

So, let us draw near to Him.

And in awe, let us worship.

He is our Lord and Saviour!

The Son of God!

Glorious Wonder.

Be Blessed.

ADVENT 2024: DAY 23

PERFECT GIFT

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights…..” James 1:17a ESV

The perfect gift, that came from a Perfect God.

“…..in whom there is no variation [no rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [for He is perfect and never changes].” James 1:17b AMP

Jesus, the Christ.

He took on our humanity.

He died a more terrible death than any of us, in our place.

He raised Himself from the grave.

“’….. I lay it down voluntarily. I am authorized and have power to lay it down and to give it up, and I am authorized and have power to take it back. This command I have received from My Father’.” John 10:18 AMP

He fulfilled the promise of Salvation and Reconciliation.

But, furthermore, He would now receive His gift, to have where He is forever.

“’I am the Good Shepherd…..My own sheep will hear my voice and I know each one, and they will follow me.  I give to them the gift of eternal life and they will never be lost and no one has the power to snatch them out of my hands.  My Father, who has given them to me as His gift, is the mightiest of all, and no one has the power to snatch them from my Father’s care. The Father and I are One.’”  John 10:11, 27-30 TPT

Do you belong to Him?

Be Blessed.

ADVENT 2024: DAY 22: 4TH SUNDAY

COMPLETE IN HIS JOY

“Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice;

Let the sea roar, and all the things it contains;

Let the field be exultant, and all that is in it.

Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy

Before the Lord, for He is coming”

Psalm 96:11-13a

Timeless, and Prophetic; words speaking to our past, and future.

These were words holding the same desire that came with the angel’s proclamation on that blessed night.

“But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people.’” Luke 2:10

Jesus Christ was born amongst us, to tell us, and to show us, how He so desires that we be made complete in Him, and have His Joy.

He explained, as He walked among those who followed.

“’I have told you these things so that My joy and delight may be in you, and that your joy may be made full and complete and overflowing.’”  John 15:11 AMP

Just as happiness is fleeting, this joy is a resolute characterization toward life. It transcends circumstance or what might be called chance. Even in the midst of trouble and hardship.

Again, He explained, as He walked this earth.

“’I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.’” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]” John 16:33 AMP

“Delight yourself in the Lord, And He will give you the desires and petitions of your heart.” Psalm 37:4 AMP

Be Blessed.

ADVENT 2024: DAY 21

INEFFABLE JOY

“That night, in a field near Bethlehem, there were shepherds watching over their flocks.  Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared in radiant splendor before them, lighting up the field with the blazing glory of God, and the shepherds were terrified!” Luke 2:8-9 TPT

It was the kind of trepidation that detailed magnificent awe, captured only in a form of our Creator’s Presence.

With sublime majesty God’s Glory invaded their realm.

“But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people.  For this day in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord (the Messiah).  And this will be a sign for you [by which you will recognize Him]: you will find a Baby wrapped in [swaddling] cloths and lying in a manger.’”  Luke 2:10-11 AMP

His voice was like a triumphant melody, resonating now, in their souls.

The exhilaration was not yet settled; God spoke further.

“….all at once, a vast number of glorious angels appeared, the very Armies of Heaven!  And they all praised God, singing:

‘Glory to God in the highest

realms of heaven!

For there is peace and a good

hope given to the sons of men’.”

Luke 2:13-14 TPT

Although the shepherds did not comprehend God’s plan in all of this, nothing else mattered. Their familiar disappeared into the night.  And now Divine Wonder moved their thoughts.

“When the angels had gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds began saying one to another, ‘Let us go straight to Bethlehem, and see this [wonderful] thing that has happened which the Lord has made known to us.’” Luke 2:15 AMP

They arose in an Ineffable Joy.

An inexpressible peace you can know, by inviting HIM into your realm.

Be Blessed.

ADVENT 2024: DAY 20

BE TRANSFORMED

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”  John 1:14 NIV

The WORD, the VOICE, who spoke the galaxies into existence. The One, by whom all things were made, and now, holds them all together.

Took off His untouchable Glory, and clothed Himself as a baby boy. He didn’t just come to be among us, but to be one of us, and prove to us the Father’s heart.

“…..anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father.” (gleaned from John 14:9 AMP)

His words proved the Father’s Voice. His actions proved the Father’s Heart.

He healed, he fed the hungry, and he forgave us.

This wasn’t out of mere compassion, but in demonstration of the Divine Love He, and the Father carry.

“…..Jesus explained, ‘I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does. For the Father loves the Son and shows him everything he is doing.’”  John 5:19, 20a AMP

In the same vein, as we take to heart, Christ, His love, and our union with Him, He will reveal the Glory that transforms.

“…..we all, with unveiled face, continually seeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are progressively being transformed into His image from [one degree of] glory to [even more] glory, which comes from the Lord, [who is] the Spirit.”

2 Corinthians 3:18 AMP

Be Blessed.

ADVENT 2024: DAY 19

ABIDING IN HIS FAITH

ABIDING IN HIS FAITH

“The Lord’s eyes scan the whole world to find those whose hearts are committed to him and to strengthen them.”  2 Chronicles 16:9a GW

“…….be sure of this: I am with you always…….”  Matthew 28:20b NLT

He has promised you more than being nearby.

He invites you to abide.

This is the place where you constantly draw from His love, walk in His Light, and rest in His Peace.

“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.” John 15:4 ESV

The same place that you will be ever aware that He is not merely with us, but within us.

As close as your breath, as steady as your heartbeat, is an ever present Faith.

That carries you along, day in, day out.

Not a faith that you try to drum up.

“My new life is empowered by the faith of the Son of God who loves me so much that he gave himself for me, and dispensed his life into mine!” (gleaned from Galatians 2:20 TPT)

Take if to heart, knowing that abiding in Him, we are held, cherished, and never alone.

Be Blessed.

ADVENT 2024: DAY 18

UNFATHOMABLE LOVE

“…..God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16 AMP

This is the love that can be fathomed in no earthly language.

All of us, in one way or another have realized some form of love.

Either attempting to give it or take it.

But, does it hold on to us?

Does it carry us along into every day?

“Though we may sit in the dark places of grief, brokenness, and even sin, inviting the Light to shine one day at a time begins the healing. As his beloved children, the weapons of evil find only defeat in our lives.

We can offer up our broken temples for his Light. God sits with us in the blackened ruins. He sits with us in the shadows where the death of hopes, dreams, relationships, and even the life we once thought possible lay desolate–illuminating bleak corners and dead places with the Light of his hope.”

Penned by Donna Bucher in her Essay of Prose

Titled “The Miracle of Light”

Only God’s love carries us, and holds us.

Pursuit of the Father’s heart is not elusive.

Stand up, and show the King of the Universe how all you are, and have, is what He sees.

And then hold on.

He’s heard you.

He loves you.

Be Blessed.

ADVENT 2024: DAY 17

SOLE REPOSE

“Quiet your heart in His Presence and pray:  Give me grace, LORD!  Always look at me through Your eyes of love – your forgiving eyes of mercy and compassion.” (gleaned from Ps 37:7 and Ps 25:6-7 TPT)

As I awaken to the dawn my eyes meet His.

I see the path to our Father’s heart.

The whole day ahead, and the coming night, are captured there.

The pursuit for His so needed, ever present Peace, is over.

This same kind of endeavour drove those, broken, and beaten down, to be drawn to their visiting Saviour, Emmanuel. He, whose heart could not, and does not, remain unmoved.

“’Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden?  Come to me.  I will refresh your life….simply join your life with mine.  Learn my ways and you’ll discover……refreshment and rest in me.’”  Matthew 11:28-29 TPT

Live to declare:

“…..it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all your works.” Psalm 73:28 ESV

Be Blessed

ADVENT 2024: DAY 16

HUMBLE MAJESTY

Our primary existence was set in the command to exert dominion.  In a paradigm of service; giving, and creating life.  We gave ourselves over to learning otherwise. We have usurped light, and life, with darkness, and death.

So, God our Saviour sent to us, both His WORD, and EXAMPLE.

“’You are to lead by a different model…..live as one called to serve others…….For even the Son of Man did not come expecting to be served…..but to serve….and to give His life as the ransom price in exchange for the salvation of many.’”  (gleaned from Mark 10:43-45 TPT)

He led with compassion.

“When he saw the vast crowds of people, Jesus’ heart was deeply moved with compassion, because they seemed weary and helpless, like wandering sheep without a shepherd” Matthew 9:36 TPT

He exhibited a heart that taught, healed, and guided. His authority never proved oppression or exploitation. He lifted off burdens. He created life.

The ultimate act of Servant Leadership was at the cross. Proving the Paradox, and the Truth, of taking the lowest place leads to the highest.

“Therefore [because He stooped so low] God has highly exalted Him and has freely bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, That in (at) the name of Jesus every knee should (must) bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, And every tongue [frankly and openly] confess and acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”  Philippians 2:9-11 AMPC

“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].” John 10:10 AMP

Receive Him into your life.

And let it overflow with His.

Be Blessed.

ADVENT 2024: DAY 15: 3RD SUNDAY

HEART TO HEART

Jesus, the Christ, King of the Universe: “’…..came to seek and to save the lost.’”  Luke 19:10 ESV

These are the words that steer us to a window into His very heart. That heart that beats for the wandering, and the broken.

He doesn’t wait passively for them to find their way back to Him. He pursues with Relentless Love.

Seeking was culminated at the cross.

“…..God clearly shows and proves His own love for us, by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”  Romans 5:8 AMP

He bared his heart to save yours. Now take it to your heart, the Timeless Invitation.

“’I am the [only] Way [to God] and the [real] Truth and the [real] Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.’”  John 14:6 AMP

Where there is no condemnation. Just Salvation.

Where there is no shame. Just Restoration.

Be Blessed.
